Sheila Goloborotko

Sheila Goloborotko. Born in São Paulo, Brazil, she began showing her work in 1980 at the Salão National de Artes Plásticas, in Rio de Janeiro. Since then, her work as become a part of permanent collections at The San Francisco Modern Art Museum, The Brooklyn Museum of Art, The Museum of Modern Art, Mashida Museum in Tokyo, Museo del Grabado in Buenos Aires and the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam. Her portfolio of prints Olhos Que Viram Peixes is part of the permanent collection of Rare Books and Manuscripts of the New York Public Library. In 2004 she was invited to present her work and inaugurated the Gabinete de Gravura, Pinacoteca de São Paulo. Goloborotko moved to New York in 1983. She has been awarded the Brooklyn Arts Council Regrant Award seven times. She teaches at Pratt Institute and conducts workshops at Goloborotko’s Studios, founded in Brooklyn in 1989.
